Hormone Replacement Therapy: A Personalized Approach to Feeling Your Best
Hormones play an important role in many aspects of our health, from energy and metabolism to mood, sleep, sexual health, and overall well-being. As we age, hormone levels naturally change, and for some people, those changes can lead to symptoms that begin to affect everyday life.
At Elevation Aesthetics & Wellness, we believe hormone health should be approached as an individualized part of your overall wellness, not a one-size-fits-all solution.
Why Do Healthy Hormone Levels Matter?
Hormones are chemical messengers that help regulate many of the body's essential functions. They influence how we use energy, maintain muscle and bone, regulate reproductive health, support sleep and mood, and respond to changes throughout different stages of life.
Hormone levels naturally fluctuate over time. For women, significant hormonal changes can occur during perimenopause and menopause. Men can also experience gradual changes in testosterone and other hormones as they age. While these changes are a normal part of aging, they can sometimes contribute to symptoms that affect how you feel day to day.
When hormone levels change, some people may notice changes in energy, sleep, mood, body composition, libido, or other aspects of their well-being. However, these symptoms can have many possible causes, which is why looking at the bigger picture is so important.
The goal of hormone care isn't simply to make your hormones "perfect" or to treat a number on a lab report. Instead, the focus is on understanding your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, and laboratory results to determine whether hormonal changes may be contributing to how you feel—and whether treatment may be appropriate.
Supporting healthy hormone function can be an important part of maintaining overall health and quality of life as your body changes.
What Is Hormone Replacement Therapy?
Hormonal changes can look different from person to person. Some individuals may notice several symptoms, while others may experience only a few.
Depending on the individual, symptoms may include:
Changes in energy or fatigue
Changes in sleep
Mood changes or irritability
Changes in metabolism or body composition
Changes in sexual health or libido
Symptoms associated with perimenopause or menopause
Changes associated with low testosterone
Other symptoms that may warrant a closer look at hormone health
Because these symptoms can have many possible causes, a comprehensive evaluation is an important first step.
Your Hormone Health Evaluation at Elevation
Your initial $250 consultation with APRN-C Jennifer is designed to look at the bigger picture—not just a single hormone level.
Your consultation includes a comprehensive review of your symptoms and medical history, a lifestyle and metabolic health evaluation, a review of current laboratory results, and a personalized hormone health assessment.
From there, Jennifer will discuss individualized treatment recommendations based on your health history, symptoms, goals, and laboratory findings.
Depending on your individual needs, hormone health services may include:
Hormone replacement therapy for women and men
Perimenopause and menopause care
Testosterone evaluation and treatment when medically appropriate
Estrogen and progesterone therapy
Thyroid evaluation and management when indicated
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy options when appropriate
Individualized treatment planning and ongoing monitoring
The goal is not simply to treat a lab result. It is to understand how you are feeling, evaluate the factors that may be contributing to your symptoms, and develop a treatment plan that is appropriate for you.
What About Laboratory Testing?
Laboratory testing can be an important part of understanding your overall hormone health. Laboratory fees are not included in the $250 consultation fee.
Depending on your individual needs, labs may be ordered through our practice and completed at a local laboratory. If you have eligible recent laboratory results, we may also request those results from your primary care provider.
Your symptoms, medical history, and laboratory results are considered together when developing your individualized plan.
What Happens After Starting Treatment?
Your hormone health journey does not end with your initial consultation.
Ongoing follow-up helps Jennifer evaluate how you are responding to treatment and determine whether adjustments may be appropriate.
A complimentary follow-up is included approximately four weeks after beginning treatment. During this visit, Jennifer will assess how you are feeling, review your progress, and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan.
After your complimentary follow-up, ongoing hormone management visits are generally scheduled at least every three months, depending on your individualized treatment plan.
Each $80 follow-up visit includes:
Follow-up evaluation
Review of symptoms and treatment progress
Review and renewal of prescriptions, when appropriate
Adjustments to your individualized treatment plan, as needed
Additional laboratory testing and medications are not included in the office-visit fee.
Consistent follow-up is an important part of personalized hormone care. It allows your provider to monitor your progress, reassess your needs, and help ensure your treatment plan continues to be appropriate for you.
Your Health. Your Symptoms. Your Plan.
Hormone health is personal, and your treatment should be, too.
At Elevation Aesthetics & Wellness, Jennifer takes the time to understand your symptoms, health goals, lifestyle, and laboratory results before making treatment recommendations. Whether you are experiencing changes related to perimenopause or menopause, concerns related to testosterone, or other symptoms that may warrant a hormone health evaluation, the first step is understanding what is happening in your body.
You don't have to navigate hormonal changes alone. A comprehensive hormone health evaluation can help you better understand your symptoms, explore your options, and determine the next steps that make sense for your individual needs.
